Those who come to power by cultural and economic subversion are paranoid and see saboteurs everywhere. Under Communism the truth is dangerous and workers are shot for failing to meet production targets.

Imagining there are people who can make better shoes than the government is a crime as you might just as well say you want a free market.

A system built on lies requires much blood.

Making it happen is a religion too. Organised evil is real and how people sell their souls for wealth and power. Infiltrate, subvert and overcome those who wish to be sensible and practical. Often as easily as calling people bigots or playing on the emotions of the populace.
